Title Database Architect Location Madison, WI Duration 12 Months The successful candidate will bull Have recent (within last 2 years) hands-on experience with Oracle 11g, 12c and SQL databases. bull Be assigned to complete data conversions from legacy grant administration database (Oracle 11g, 12c) to a new agency-wide system (DNR eGrants System, SQL server database). bull Develop scripts to convert grant program-specific datasets from Oracle 11g, 12c database to SQL database. bull Test, identify and correct errors, and communicate SQL database updates as necessary. bull Work collaboratively with SQL System Architects to make changes to database management system. bull Determine impact of SQL database changes on other system components through complex and detailed review of Entity Relationship Diagrams, workflow models and processes. bull Modifies database procedures to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning. bull Stay current with project business requirements and objectives, particularly as these relate to database architecture issues. bull Work remotely during COVID-19 pandemic, but eventually may be required to work onsite. bull Provide excellent communication, excellent time-management to complete tasks and assignments as directed and with moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. bull Maintain excellent communication with Technology Services Section Chief, Project Manager and Business Analyst to ensure 1) business requirements are met, 2) risks are identified and problem-solved, and 3) status updates are provided in a timely manner.
