Finance Analyst – Enterprise Improvement | Detroit In this hands-on role on AlixPartners’ Corporate Services team, you will be a partner to the Enterprise Improvement (EI) Practice and the Finance function, supporting key financial processes including partnering with leadership to support strong engagement results, client billing, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and other special cross-functional projects. You will collaborate with Senior Financial Analysts, Managers and other members of the team, while enjoying the challenge of addressing complex and ambiguous financial issues. In addition, there will be special projects with diverse topics providing interaction with cross-functional and business leadership and colleagues across the firm and yield further opportunities for growth The Strategic Finance Analyst – EI (EMEA/Americas) is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the Strategic Finance Manager – DIG/EI. Paid relocation is not available. Key Responsibilities: Support EI Managing Directors through billing, collection, A/R and accounting processes, primarily in the EI EMEA business; may include project support in the Americas Partner with engagement leadership to monitor engagement profitability and overall metrics Respond to inquiries from accounting regarding client engagement status and economics; identify potential issues and notify appropriate parties; support A/R process and collections follow-up for delinquent accounts Review and understand consulting agreements with clients and subcontractors, identifying issues where present Review time/expense submissions and client invoices, checking for accuracy and completeness, working with the engagement’s leadership to secure approval, and communicating related requirements to the billing team Prepare/distribute monthly reports, data, and financial analysis to EI Managing Directors; respond to one-off requests for data and analysis Help prepare and deliver internal finance/accounting presentations Balance conflicting requests from internal/external parties, creatively addressing diverse needs. Handle routine finance, accounting and administrative support tasks and requests for assistance from time-to-time Evaluate and handle sensitive, confidential calls, emails, internal and client data with appropriate care, exercising sound judgment in responding to unique and urgent situations Additional responsibilities as identified Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; ideal candidate has accounting/finance/business/economics or related field 2-5 years of accounting/finance experience highly preferred Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook Foreign language skills (Italian, French, and/or German) and exposure to international commerce and cultures a plus Outstanding client interaction skills, possessing excellent verbal/telephone and written/email capabilities with colleagues, clients, and external contacts Serve as a good citizen of the firm and the finance team by upholding our core values, and contributing to others’ growth and development Strong work ethic and willingness to take on new challenges with a business style that is fluid and adaptive in a dynamic environment Enjoys identifying creative process improvements, finding ways to capture or extract data, modify as necessary and then present to team to ensure it aligns with requirements Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work independently on complex assignments Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the business; find new ways to enhance the value brought to our firm Must be familiar with and promote and abide by all Firm values as defined by the AlixPartners’ Code of Conduct and in terms of Ethics, Diversity and Inclusion Willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, particularly as unique projects/needs arise Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment This description is not designed to encompass a comprehensive listing of required activities, duties or responsibilities.
